Crescent 4-Ply RagMat® Museum mat boards are designed for conservation and preservation, are acid-free and made from 100% cotton. This solid-core mat board is 1/16" thick. They are the same color all way through so the bevel color is the same color as the surface. It comes in a variety of colors, including many neutral tones.

Crescent 4-Ply RagMat® Museum – RagMat Museum Solids, 1/16 inch thick, 100% cotton mat board. Acid-free and lignin-free, featuring one solid color throughout.

Additional color details:

  • 2253-White: a smooth neutral white
  • 1126-Sand Dollar: a slightly "watercolor" textured mat that is a slightly warmer white (leaning toward yellow tones)
  • 1112-Soft White: a smooth white, with a slightly creamy tone
  • 2259-Antique White: a smooth warmer white (leaning toward yellow tones); appears brighter in shade than Soft White

Although the Alpharag colors of Natural Black and Natural White are no longer available from Bainbridge, these Crescent colors of RagMat® Museum are the best available match to those colors:

You Can’t Be Serious, But Sinced You Asked

I don’t write online reviews. My experience with FrameDestination was incredibly terrible, but I had no intention of sharing that publicly, until they invited me to leave them a 5 Star review. They told me to expect a 10 working day turnaround (in late May or early June). That didn’t happen. When I finally received their first attempt at order fulfillment, it was embarrassingly wrong. They seemed polite and sincere in their wish to correct things. Clearly that was bovine excrement. It took until September to finally get the order (very basic, only a few frames with mats) completed. I have the receipts and the emails to prove my point.

I had an issue with my order when 12 of the wrong sized mats were delivered from an order of 20, and after consultation with two Frame Destination customer service Ninja’s-Betty and Frederick by myself and my assistant Alexis, who helped with this order on my portfolio of 20 photographs for a Guggenheim Foundation photography application, Frame Destination kindly put the order of replacement mats on rush order, paid for return shipping, and refunded the cost of the wrong mats. Yesterday Alexis put together the portfolio and the new mats were the correct size, so we are hoping for success with our application that will soon be shipped to New York for the Guggenheim Foundation for review by their selection committee.
