Sleek, Contemporary Metal Shadow Box Frame
NOTE: If you are wanting acrylic (instead of glass) for this profile, STANDARD ACRYLIC is the only acrylic option that fits in the glazing channel for this profile.
Warning: Frame size equals the size of the frame’s components, for example, the glass, mat board, and backer board. We automatically cut the inside of our frames 1/8 inch larger to allow for size tolerances, components that are not truly square, and to prevent binding and warping with temperature changes.
Nielsen® Profile 100 Shadow Box is made of the highest quality aluminum metal moulding for picture frames. It's strong and durable with consistent matte finish. This frame has enough depth to be used as a shadow box for framing and displaying 3D objects. Because of the frame's design and build, the internal measurement for display is approximately 1/2" smaller than the frame size. Each shadow box frame includes corner hardware and spring clips to hold frame contents in place, plus euro hangers for attaching wire to frame. Our staff cuts each frame’s moulding approximately 1/8 inch larger to ensure the glazing and backing will fit properly within the finished picture frame. Frame may be shipped unassembled.

Unfortunately, two items were damaged. It looked like the box had been dropped on a corner as one frame had a slight knick on its corner, but I found it usable. Two pieces of plexi were broken: 19" x 24"and 20" x 20" Time was of the essence so I got replacements locally. In the next week or so, I will order 4 more frames in other sizes. Would it be possible to get a credit on that order?
Been using this frame in Matt black for 20 years and they are a winner. I can remove the art piece and reconfigure the size for a different piece. They are great with or without glazing.
The frame parts and glazing came very well packed and protected. I felt nervous about the glass but it was in perfect condition. The frame parts themselves appeared to be mitered with a chopsaw, saw marks visible. On a scale of 1-10 for part fitment, 10 being perfect, I would rate all of these parts at a 6-7. In order to achieve tight fitment at the face corners, the mending plates forced a gap into the back seams. To accommodate this, I had to pre burnish the corners down, assemble again, burnish to fit, and paint the exposed mitered aluminum black to match the factory finish. All in all the frame and artwork came together and looked nice on the wall, but have fitment issues that would be much more problematic in a lighter color. Would probably not buy again.
I cannot believe how easy it was to get a custom frame from frame destination. I used it to fame a family treasured document and iron brand. Customer service, time line and frame accuracy 5 STARS! Thank you

These were so great for the shadow boxes I was fabricating for a client. They loved them so much they ordered 24 more!!! The only tip I would give anyone purchasing these is just to be careful with the edges as they can be sharp! They so beautiful and so professional!!
