A Bit of Work to Organize
Reviewed on
It took several weeks, but I received the full collection of matboard swatches. The swatches are smaller than expected measuring 2"w x 5"h slats. Some of the swatches did not have a label on them, so I can't determine what manufacturer or color they are. Many were dirty (dirt smudged across the front). Others were labeled on the front side which is bothersome. I also had several duplicates, leading me to think that I could be missing some colors. It took about an hour to organize the swatches by manufacturer and then sort them by color. There was no organization upon receipt. They were mixed and randomly stacked.

Just as expected

The color mat sample set I ordered is just as expected. Which is a big compliment when ordering anything online. There were over 100 samples with the number and name clearly printed on the back of each one.

Excelent!!!

This is the way to go if you need to see the colors in real life (not on the computer screen) and next to the art work
Perfect if you like to buy already made frames (like me) but make it look custom made
The variety in this sampler is all you need!!!

Mat Color Samples

Overall experience very good. I would highly recommend these if you are planning to purchase mats from Frame Destination, as colors can be very deceiving on computer monitors.

Complete Mat Color Sample set
Reviewed on
Set came in a timely manner before the TX crisis. I used the set to make our decisions and ordered mats shortly after. Unfortunately TX is just now recovering from the freeze so their is a delay. Our thoughts are with our friends in TX and we will be patient while you attend to more important business. Wish you the best.

We appreciate it Don! Glad we could get the samples quickly!

Every Color of the Rainbow!

The Complete Mat Color Sample Set (Crescent Select 4-Ply) was perfect. The actual sample color does vary from what you see online, so it’s well worth the $28.50 investment. It includes 2 Vellum, 2 Textured, 5 w/Black Core and 6 Speckled. It doesn’t include the 10 Metallics Set, so make sure you order that separately ($2.50).

Excellent set

Ordering the full set was the best choice for me. We have quite a few pieces to frame and this way we can try all the looks beforehand.

Great resources

This is the only way to order framing online. I researched for weeks for the best place to order complex framing online. Frame Destination had the most extensive options as well as the only way to truly customize down the detail on mats. They also have the highest quality in choices of mats, frames, backing and "glass" to choose from. In the end, I ordered a sample of the complete mat set as well as every frame choice I thought I might use in my house. I spent about $50 total and now have the ability to pick the perfect colors and frames. I had done this online for this first order, but knew computers change colors - so glad because what I had chosen online looked awful! Looking forward to ordering many more framing sets over the years!! BTW I had gone to 2 local shops and the pricing for "almost" what I wanted was double or more the Frame Destination pricing - even with shipping and oversized shipping added. This is also a FAR more economical way to do some amazing framing.

So many samples
Reviewed on
I ordered the complete set of Cresent Select mat color samples along with the metallic samples. There are so many that it makes it difficult to look through them all. Definitely worth it, though to put colors next to each other and see them in person as opposed to an approximation on the web page. They came pretty quickly and are going to be invaluable in the long term.
