The Nielsen profile 97 is a contemporary metal frame with a metallic finish. It measures about 1 inch wide and has a 1/2-inch rabbet. The included framing glass features 99% UV-filter while the mat is a 8-ply double thick Crescent 100% Cotton RagMat, which provides museum-level archival protection. The visible mat borders are about 1-1/2 inches on each sides. With this frame, the window is cut just 1/4-inch smaller than the diploma. Off-the-shelf diploma frames are often cut 1/2-inch smaller.
