The Nielsen 37 profile features a raised silver edge around a black base. It is 5/8-inch wide and 1-7/16 inches tall with a a rabbet of 3/4-inch. . The framing glass features a 99% UV-filter and the mat board is 8-ply double thick White Crescent 100% Cotton RagMat, which provides museum-grade archival protection. The mat borders measure about 1-1/2 inches on all four sides, and the window is only 1/4-inch smaller than the diploma.
