The size of the floater depends on the size of the art you are framing. For the correct floater frame dimensions, enter the size of your stretcher bar frame, measuring at the corners. Select the size in the "Choose Canvas Size" box or select "CUSTOM" if your size is not listed.

The inside dimension of the floater frame will automatically be sized one inch (1") larger than the stretcher bar dimensions, allowing a one-half inch (1/2") float space between the canvas and the inside edge of the floater frame.

This wood canvas frame comes in four colors: Black, Espresso, Espresso Gold and Espresso Silver. This style is a beveled shape, which means when it is mounted to the wall, the frame angles in towards the art. The front face is flat, for a sharper look. It is 1-7/8" wide and 2-1/8" tall with a 1-7/8" inside depth.

Each canvas floater frame is completely assembled with glue and v-nails and then hand finished, and each one comes with mounting hardware and hanging hardware. The mounting hardware is shown here: 1/4 Inch Offset Clips w/Screws

The F150 Floater Frame is ideal for 1.5" canvases mounted on our S140, S260 and S320 Stretcher Bar Frames, which will be recessed in the frame surface, or for 2" canvases mounted on our S150 and S280 Stretcher Bar Frames, which will project out of the surface, but both will benefit from the angle of the frame edge.

Floater Frames can make a dramatic difference in your presentation, especially for contemporary or single-subject artwork. Floater Frames create a display space in which your gallery wrap canvas appears to be suspended or “floating” inside the frame. The Floater Frame does not cover the edge of the painting or canvas print, so any color applied to the canvas wrapping the sides of the stretcher bars may be somewhat visible in the "float" space. There’s no matting or glazing involved, so your art is more visually immediate and compelling.
