Hinging Tape and Tissue
Hinging tape is a better way to affix your photo images to mount board when mounting. The fact is that liquid and spray adhesives can cause major problems when they react chemically with the substances contained in the photo images. Besides that, spray adhesives are difficult to control and messy.
At Frame Destination, one of the best sellers is Lineco Self-Adhesive Hinging Tape. It can be used both for hinging artwork to the mount board as well as hinging the mat board to the mount board. It is soft and pliable for ease of working, yet strong enough to hold heavier pieces firmly in place.
For lighter pieces, dry mount tissue sheets may be a better choice. Also by Lineco, these are completely self-adhesive, and require only a gentle push in order to hold lightweight and translucent works of art or photographic images. Hinging tape and tissue come in longer rolls providing a lower cost.
