Acrylic Selection Guide
You have found the perfect frame for your valuable artwork or photography, so protect it with acrylic sheets. Framing is a multi-part process, and finding the right frame is only the first step; other picture framing supplies that are needed include hinges, matboard and glazing. Acrylic sheets are the most durable and economical glazing solutions available.
The purpose of glazing is to protect your image from damage caused by ultraviolet rays. Glass is the traditional material, but is prone to breakage should the framed picture fall to the floor. Acrylic sheets are virtually indestructible, and are particularly appropriate for childrens’ rooms and indoor sports areas – anywhere that broken glass may pose a safety hazard. Museums prefer acrylic since broken glass can permanently destroy rare artwork.
